Science Fiction

ADMINISTRATORS: Custer1, ljim2000, criminal english

FOUNDER: Kira Greystar

URL: p090.ezboard.com/bsciencefiction

FOUNDED IN: February 2002

MAIN INTERESTS: Literary Science Fiction; SF books and authors

Administrator ljim2000, affectionately describes the community at Science Fiction ezboard as "a literary minded group of science fiction geeks." If by 'geek' he means dedicated, sharp-minded, visionary lovers of literature, then he's right on target. While Science Fiction was not originally founded by any of the current administrators, its success and sensibilities were hand-crafted by the current team. As Custer1 describes it, original founder Kira Greystar bowed out due to "real world" obligations - at which point the current team staked a claim to the unsettled territory.

There are some general interest forums, including SF movies, tv, music and "good old sf magazines" according to Custer. But the heart of the board is discussion of SF literary greats, both classic and modern. Board favorites include Poul Anderson, David Brin, Phillip K Dick, H.P. Lovecraft, C.J. Cherryh, and Michael Moorcock. The Science Fiction board is a tight knit community, but they are also welcoming to new contributors and eager to share their SF favorites by recommending a book. SF fans can also browse their extensive archive of "reviews, reactions, recommendations, and reports" or weigh in on their current "group read."
